Body Image

Mwd1023Body dissatisfaction consumes you.

Other people have body image concerns, but not like yours. You’re constantly preoccupied with your appearance even though you don’t want to be.

Getting dressed in the morning is a real drag.

You hate the way you look in most things you wear.

When you finally decide what to wear and check yourself in the mirror, you obsess over whether you look smaller or bigger than yesterday. You tell yourself, “If my belly were flatter, I would finally feel okay.”

You try to avoid mirrors for most of the day.

When you allow yourself to look, you nitpick which parts of your body you wish to change. Seeing yourself in photos brings up your harshest self-criticism. “Do I look like that in real life?” you ask yourself.

SpikedYou’re in a constant cycle of “compare and despair.”

You embody success in so many parts of your life, including your career, being a loving partner, and being a supportive caregiver and friend. But you never measure up to others regarding your appearance, weight, shape, or size.

When others compliment your looks, it doesn’t change how you feel deep down inside. Underneath it all, you feel like you’re too much and not good enough all at the same time.

You strive for perfection, not realizing that this is, to a large extent, what holds you back from being your best, most confident self.

Trying to ignore it doesn’t work.

Body dissatisfaction consumes you no matter what you do.

You want to stop believing you’ll only be loved and accepted when you finally reach a certain weight or size, but it doesn’t feel attainable.

Feelings become hopeless because you will never be free of this pain and self-loathing. You feel stuck in this story, and it’s taking away your agency and power to live the life you want to live.

Rediscover your inner beauty and embrace your authentic self.

I believe you already have the wisdom and confidence to accept and respect your body as it exists today. (And hey – maybe even to love and celebrate your body, but that’s for you to decide!)

Freedom from body dissatisfaction is possible when you address the root causes.

We tend to believe that our body is the problem, but there’s always more to the story. How we view our inner self (in combination with our experiences and life circumstances) is so important.

The way we narrate our story matters!

FlowerConnect to your body and your story.

I’ll help you piece together and understand your body narrative in a safe, supportive environment. You’ll build awareness of your experiences (and those dang cultural narratives that persist) that influence your perceptions and feelings toward your body.

Your inner body critic will get quieter, and its messages will be less captivating. Your wise, kind self will be more audible, confident, and empowered. You’ll feel present instead of stuck in your head worrying about what you look like.

Gather your courage, and rally your cheerleaders because we’re about to stir some shit up! In all honesty, I advise that you have a mental health therapist on your team if you don’t already because this work is the real deal.

You deserve to feel better about yourself.

No matter your body size, you deserve to feel comfortable and confident in it. Gaining that confidence and comfort is where I can help!
