My Approach

Hey there, hello, hi!

Your story brought you here.

Life isn’t horrible, but it’s not playing out how you wanted.

Whether you’re concerned about your health, have an eating disorder, are tired of an all-or-nothing mindset with food, or seek more comfort in your skin…

…you belong here.

Ignite the confidence that’s already inside.

There’s a confident “you” buried under layers of protection, ready to ✨sparkle✨.

Fear of what others might think often keeps your authentic self in the shadows. In the presence of someone you trust, you occasionally let her* out.

I see that confident human, and one of my roles is to invite her* into our sessions. Don’t let fear of failure or fear of rejection reign. (Seriously though, I’ll call you on it.)

I wear many hats in my work with you.

My story led me here, too.

I am sometimes a nutrition therapist in our work together, sharing knowledge about how nutrients interact with your body and impact health. It’s not just science, though. I believe the most effective approach to health is one that accounts for your unique experiences and perspectives, too.

One of my favorite things is to dispel cultural myths about health and wellness. I will never recommend intentional weight loss, though I have plenty of space to taco ‘bout it. (I do love a pun!)

I’m a body image coach and fat acceptance advocate. I carefully navigate ways to challenge you, stretch you, and help you grow into the empowered and embodied person I know you truly can be.

Much of the time, I am an empath, an inquisitive listener, and a holder of your sacred story.

Mostly, I am a human healing along with you.

Our relationship and the connection and trust we build are important to me. Witnessing you transform a fraught relationship with food and your body into one of ease, nourishment, and peace is a gift.

“Houston, we have liftoff!”

Finding a new way to approach food requires leaving your comfort zone. Having a teammate in the healing process is essential, so I don’t just talk “the talk.” Though I will make mistakes, you can count on me to walk “the walk” and take uncomfortable risks alongside you. This includes identifying my privileges and learning how to best support those without the same privileges.

Woah! That got a little heavy.

This brings me to my last point: Levity in this experience is a MUST. A little humor (and colorful language!) can go a long way. Don’t be surprised when my sarcasm comes out, or I curse to make a point!

So now you’ve taken it all in. It’s time to take the next step toward more peace and joy in your body. Send me a message in the form below now to get started!
